The series has been in development with HBO since last year and
comes from the director of the movie, Jon M. Chu, co-writer
Adele Lim, Nina Jacobson, and Brad Simpson. Initially an
HBO Max offering, it has since moved to HBO proper. It has been
officially ordered as an 8-episode, one-hour drama series.
