I've just started on a 6 part mystery/thriller called Last Seen which
might be of interest to some of you. It's Australian and it's based on a
novel (as opposed to a real life case).

The premise is that family of four had the youngest of two children, a 3
year old girl named Margaret (often called Maggie or Mags for short), kidnapped eleven years ago. She is still missing as the story opens and
the family is devastated. The parents divorced, the father fell into a
battle, and Maggie's older brother seems somewhat but not totally
estranged from his family. A body is found and father, who is a
dispatcher at the 000 service (the equivalent of 911 in Canada and the
US) - and a former police detective - gets wind of it. He goes to the
crime scene and finds some clothes of his daughter. The body is also
that of a young girl so he jumps to some reasonable conclusions.

We soon come to wonder if he is badly mistaken. I won't spoil the plot
any further. Suffice it to say that by the end of the second episode,
which I've just finished, we get a tantalizing glimpse into the
possibility that father and daughter may eventually reunite.

IMDB gives this a 7.1 overall. I'd say it's at least that good so far
but, of course, I can't say how well it will turn out when all is said
and done. I didn't recognize any of the actors at all but they seem to
    be giving decent performances.

I've seen the whole thing. It's okay but not great. The ending may
    surprise you.

We haven't watched it yet. It's another of these Australian shows where
a British actor (this time Maxine Peake) gets a free Aussie holiday -
there's been quite a lot of them recently.

IMDB says it's a new production but there are certainly plot elements
that are reminiscent of some real life cases that happened in America.
