What did you watch?
Hey, thanks for asking!
I?ve watched all kinds of stuff the last few days.
Last night I watched KLONDIKE FEVER. Jeff East stars as Jack London,
determined to find gold and save a dog no matter how many people it costs.
It has a hell of a cast, although I watched it entirely because it?s
recently been discovered that it?s an uncredited Vanity?s first movie. With
Rod Steiger, Angie Dickinson, Lorne Greene, Barry Morse, Lisa Langolis,
Gordon Pinsett from Due South, and Debra Wakeham.
The Best of Sex and Violence
The uncredited cast has to be seen to be believed

I am embarrassed, how many of these films I saw in the theater
The snARK
There?s all these people and they play the regular characters and their
clones so they only have to pay about five actors and they steal a bunch of stuff from both Star Trek and Stargate and save the planet and then all sit around happily ever after. (Hopefully) the end.
The Martian Chronicles (1980)
Another great cast wasted:
Rock Hudson, Gail Honeycutt, Bernie Casey, Darren McGavin, Nicholas
Hammond, Roddy McDowell, Bernadette Peters, Maria Schell, Fritz Weaver,
Barry Morse Nyree Dawn Porter, and Laurie Holden.
I?ve wanted to see this since 1980 and finally sat down and watched all
three parts all five hours of it.
Part one is the going to Mars and it?s fairly fun with the necessary
handwaving of the science, and they absolutely ridiculous launching where
they send the rockets up vertically and then the people up afterwards in a little craft, the size of a LEM. It?s unclear how long it takes to get to
Mars, but of course they have instantaneous communications. The first
mission goes up and finds the murderous telepathic Martians have replicated their home towns on Earth and poison them all. I?m absolutely certain I?ve
seen that as a twilight zone or similar show. Part two sends up the second expedition, which meets a similar fate and finally the third expedition,
which actually includes our stars, including Bernie Casey, the only black
guy on Mars who murders almost everyone else. It ends with them declaring
war on earth, and the United States recalls the entire colony, which makes
no sense at all.
Part three is just horrible. Even though we?ve nuke the Earth, rock Hudson
goes back and finds Mission control. Still running just with nobody in it
and doesn?t even think to look for his brother somewhere other than Work,
like maybe Home. Then on the abandoned Mars colony, we see two people we?ve never seen before and Hope never to see again who connect and she?s totally worthless, so worthless he hops a Gyro copter which flies despite Mars
having almost no atmosphere and goes 10,000 miles away. Then we see Barry Morris and a rescue ship comes for him and then when he goes out to meet
it, he runs into rock Hudson and we never do find out what happened to the rescue ship. Rock Hudson and Rodney McDowell visit and figure out that his
wife and daughter are robots and then he has a heart attack and dies. I am quite certain I?ve seen that on a twilight zone or something as well. Then
rock Hudson gets together with his family and takes the kids out to look at
a reflection in the water and says the inevitable ?we are the Martians? and
the final shot is the most unbelievably stupid shot in an already stupid
film, where they look at the reflection in the water and it?s not reversed. Meanwhile, we meet Martians and all the Martians turn out to be dead and
ghosts from the future and all the humans turn out to be dead and ghosts
from the future as well or maybe not. This was a truly awful wretched waste
of five hours.
What did you watch?
