The father of a student at an elementary school witnessed an armed
teenager shoot his way into the school. The man followed him in and took
him out. Unfortunately, the perpetrator had already murdered 3 students
and a teacher and seriously injured others.
If the father hadn't acted, more children and faculty would have been murdered.
Politicians downplayed his role. The governor praised first responders
who got there later, and referred to "actions of a community member".
The father committed a felony and faces a mandatory sentence of several
years if they charge him. Who the hell knows what he told cops; I'm
guessing he never asked for a lawyer.
He's completely fucked.

I'm hearing that a teacher had already tackled the shooter and
was wrestling with him when the parent shot. I think this is the
source of the "troubling questions" the police chief mentioned.
The detractors are making a case that the shooter was already
subdued.

I don't think so. The community has come together for him. He has
already received more than $350,000 in donations, for legal fees
or therapy or whatever he needs. He can get a decent lawyer, and
it's already clear that no jury will convict him.

While the father holds a concealed carry permit, and the law has
exceptions for carry permit holders violating gun-free government
buildings, at local option, a board of education can ban carry-permit
holders from carrying on school grounds. This school did so.
Somehow the shooter, who received the rifle from his mother, wasn't
detered by the law.

A battered wife who grabs the gun to kill her husband during a lull in
the beating that she expects to resume shortly? Women's prisons are full
of such convicts. She could have tried to leave!
Is there any truth to the allegations of the guy in the YouTube video
that the shooter was another transformer, like the whacko that killed
the students and teacher at Tumbler Ridge BC?

Another reason to skip the video. It was just rhetoric. Another
accusation was that he was taking a psychiatric drug. He made it up. I'd
like to know if there was an underlying issue or his mother ignored
signs of instability but gave him the rifle anyway.

The affirmative defense of necessity should easily overcome any asinine charges they choose to bring against him.

It'll be argued that the necessity didn't exist when he broke the ban.

Doesn't matter if it objectively existed. The standard is whether he reasonably believed it existed.

It's original-flavor horribly offensive moviePig! The father WITNESSED
the perpetrator break in through a locked door by shooting a lock. He followed him in. He reasonably believed the perpetrator was there to
commit mass murder.
The necessity didn't exist?
