• Problems with addfiles

    From nelgin@1:103/705 to Digital Man on Wed Dec 4 21:39:46 2024
    As you know, I have a bit of a unqiue setup with my files areas. I'm trying to add in some new files to newly created directories under my Main library.

    [dir:Main:BBCROMAMX]
    description=BBC:ROMS:AMX and Mouse Utilities
    name=AMX-mouse
    ars=
    upload_ars=
    download_ars=
    operator_ars=
    exempt_ars=
    area_tag=BBCROMAMX
    path=/nfs/bbs/bbc/roms/AMX-mouse/
    data_dir=../data/dirs/bbs/
    upload_sem=
    extensions=
    settings=0x8c9
    seq_dev=0
    sort=0
    max_age=0
    max_files=0
    upload_credit_pct=0
    download_credit_pct=0
    [dir:Main:BBCROMBASIC]
    description=BBC:ROMS:BASIC ROMS and Additions
    name=basic
    ars=
    upload_ars=
    download_ars=
    operator_ars=
    exempt_ars=
    area_tag=BBCROMBASIC
    path=/nfs/bbs/bbc/roms/basic/
    data_dir=../data/dirs/bbs/
    upload_sem=
    extensions=
    settings=0x8c9
    seq_dev=0
    sort=0
    max_age=0
    max_files=0
    upload_credit_pct=0
    download_credit_pct=0

    I cannot find any sort of combination of options that work to get the files from /nfs/bbs/bbc/roms/* into their correct directories.

    Note, there is no parent path for Main since I'm using absolute paths for the file path.

    I've been using jsexec addfiles -lib=Main -diz -from=Sysop
    with various things for the dir-code and it still wants to try and add files to add the directories.

    I'm open to suggestions. I'm obviously doing something stpid.

    Thanks,

    Are you saying you want the files in bbc/roms to be moved to bbc/roms/AMX-mouse (for example) by addfiles.js?

    Note, there is no parent path for Main since I'm using absolute paths for the file path.

    I've been using jsexec addfiles -lib=Main -diz -from=Sysop

    With that command-line, addfiles will just look in all the storage paths for each "directory" in the Main library for any files that are not already in the filebase for that "directory" and then add them. It doesn't copy or move files.

    with various things for the dir-code and it still wants to try and add files to add the directories.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "try and add files to add the directories".

    No, that would be silly. I want the files in bbc/roms/AMX-mouse to show up in the files area "BBC:ROMS:AMX and Mouse Utilities" which has the name AMX-mouse so users can search and download it from the file path. It should be looking in /nfs/bbs/bbc/roms/AMX-mouse for files to add to the Main library, BBCROMMAX file directory.

    Okay, and that's what I would expect to happen with that command-line. Or you could specify the directory code and not include the -lib=name option.
