  • problem with font with winpoint

    Just got winpoint working on linux with wine.

    Hope it stays working.

    How do I change the font size on winpoint.

    in fact you can do this by changing the font size in the language file.

    It's such a long time since I've had to tweak the language file, I'd never thought of looking at it for this particular issue. Now that I've had a look and a little play, it's also possible to change the font as well as the font size. I've changed the font to "Microsoft Sans Serif" and left the size set to "9" but only in the [TMessageListWindow] section for now, which has improved things quite a bit. I need to play some more ;-))

    No fiddling around, juse "sudo wine WpointII.exe


    Hope it stays working.

    So do I, takes a while to appear, 15 second just long enough for you to think it crashed

    When I change the font and try to resume using the program, it freezes.

    using wine on Linux to run the program.

    I am glad it works at all.

    My last resort as this is the only fido program I can find to use.

    It's also my favorite.

    Should keep running if I don.'t muck around with wine.

    Did you close the font dialog window at all? Maybe its still there and (being modal) blocks the UI? Wine had such issues before ...

    My last resort as this is the only fido program I can find to use.

    Last resort is always changing settings directly in the registry ;)

    There is at least one Linux *native* Point package I can think of but as I don't relish the thought of starting a "software war", this would not be the right place to mention it ;))

    Works fine without it on mine. See no reason for sudo.

    Well, I bet you installed it using sudo causing your problems ;) I guess, Wine installs for the current user, und if you use sudo for the setup, WP is getting installed for root and only works when youre root (as in using sudo).
