I'd be updating mystic to a newer version before going to far with customizing your system.

Good point. I'll have a look how this can work as smooth as possible because the system is already customized.

Yes, those updates can be rather massive when it comes to changes to different files, functions etc. that are mentioned in the whatsnew file -- lots of things can change between the versions sometimes...

Hoping you'll be able to get it up and running!

However - I can read your reply right now - it seems to work now. :)

btw: I noticed you are using A49. Are there any advantages, and if any, how to update?

I used it because it contained a number of fixes for issues that I had reported =), but I have heard some people have had problems with the event system in A49 with events not firing etc.

I have had some problems with event configuration changes "reverting", i.e. not sticking, but I think I had that problem in earlier releases as well. It *might* have to do with MIS running while editing the configuration, but I'm not sure.

Other than that, the upgrade procedure is just like for the stable releases (upgrade.txt and whatsnew.txt), and the download is available from:

    http://mysticbbs.com/downloads/prealpha/

But it might be a good idea to actually =) perform a complete backup before upgrading in case something goes wrong. Although I have had very little trouble with the prealphas.

So there's no need (as it was with A47/48 Updates also ;)) to update to A49 - even if everything is running smoothly now (finger crossed).

When I'm really bored - I'll think about it :-)))

    Thanks for explanation.

You won't be able to resist after a while! ;)

It's been a while since the latest A49 prealpha was released now. Hoping for g00r00 to reappear in due time (probably when he gets more time).

Yeah - here too. So far, I haven't noticed any errors.
Also, backing up Mystic on Linux is not a problem at all.
