LOL I remember when daytime gameshows used to have prizes like that. As kid in the 1970s/early-80s, I thought that was impressive. :D

Yeah, I was a big game show fan back then. When I was a kid/teen, during Summer vacations, I'd be up 'round 9am, just in time for the four-hour block game shows on the three networks...yes, three. I knew 'em all; The Price is Right, The $10,000 Pyramid, Joker's Wild, et al.

The Price is Right was my main go-to during my childhood as it was always on right around lunch time. IIRC, the "big 3" network stations in my area had already moved off of game shows in the morning during that time and were showing mostly syndicated programming (old tv shows), and one had a morning soap opera or two. Pyramid had been shown but wasn't any longer, and Joker was on in the evening, sometime between the local news and prime-time.

I did enjoy the Joker! Seems like it disappeared about the time that Wheel and Jeopardy started showing in my area. Sometime during the day, we did have Hollywood Squares, though. I really liked Let's Make a Deal back then, but it was not on in our area... I could only watch it when visiting my Grandparents or Aunt in another area. ;)

I remember watching an episode of The Dating Game, and the "lucky
couple" won a romantic weekend getaway to SAN FRANCISCO!

They showed stock post csard photos of cable cars, the golden gate
bridge, the entrance to Chinatown, and the view from Twin Peaks, and
then told them they'd be staying at the luxurious Villa Hotel.

The only problem was that the Villa Hotel was in San Mateo, a sleepy,
run-down suburb about 20 miles south of The City.

The Villa did have an awesome tiki bar back then... would have been
better if they'd sprung for the Fairmont Hotel with the Tonga Room. It's
right off the California St. cable car line in the middle of downtown
SF, was later the setting for the TV show "Hotel" in the 1980s, and has
a killer tiki bar called the Tonga Room". There's a lake with an island
in the middle, the tiki lounge band would row a fake outrigger canoe to
the island and play. Once every hour or so it rained, complete with fake thunder and lightning.

When I was just starting out, appetizers were free during happy hour.
we'd ride the cable car up California from work, go and nurse a
Singapore Sling, a hurricane, or a Mai Tai and eat a dinner of fried
    apps.

Were you ever tempted to visit their tiki bar to see if the contestants
    were there? ;)

Sounds like a pretty elaborate setup they had going there. Sure you had
    great fun there.

2oFB is NOT the best bbS around - its NOT setup with the security like
The Bottomless Abyss - it DOESN'T have the love that The Quantum Wormhole
has - it ISN'T as custom as aBSINTHE - it will NEVER be the vintage
computing feat that Dura-Europas is... but it is SOMETHING; and for that,

Not to beat a dead horse, but the other day on 20fb I had to wait almost twohours for a taco...
