Openclaw is a very interesting project. I believe it and applications of a similar nature such as n8n and claude code/cli are going to completely revolutionize how we use computers in the long run, but they are crude, brittle and filled with security holes today.
I'm using claude.ai via oauth w/ sonnet 4.6 for most conversational work and drawing, but also experimenting with gpt5 codex max which seems to produce better artistic outcomes. some day soon i will test a variety of engines local and API.
Anthropic issued a statement that Oauth is fine for clawbot personal use, just don't run business scale use cases on it -- the line seems to be grey and fuzzy but i am definately way below it.
As for cost token burn is higher on claude than chatgpt. haven't tried other services. for openclaw you absolutely want to use complex frontier models for most 'openclawy' things, however simpler local models i am told can handle simple jobs like log scrapes
absolutely recommend only running openclaw in heavily isolated sandboxes with its own accounts - do not connect it to any personal / private data - it's too easy to prompt inject.
Nice - how you getting along w/ Openclaw?? How much is the API costing you?
I'm thinking of passing a Claude Code Max OAuth to mine, but can get you banned on claude.ai...
