Is there a way to connect to MRC using a regular IRC client?

No, there is no way to connect using an IRC client.

Also, if you haven't tried it yet, I've just released an alpha of MRC 1.3, which now supports SSL, wide-terminal, themes and a whole lot more features. Looking for feedback and theme contributors.

It can be fetched from my board at bbs.bottomlessabyss.net:2023 for now.

    Cheers!

And its really nice - for the OP, some non-Mystic sysops use Mystic software to run on non Mystic BBSes... one that I can think of is Wizard's Rainbow and... Dark Systems - might learn how thru those boards?

Now, we need to bribe echicken to update the Synchronet client. Booze, strippers, new hardware -- anyone have any suggestions?

I'll see between echicken, codefenix and myself to get this updated, at least for the new core features like SSL.

    Cheers!

I'd help, but my coding days are long behind me and mostly in C and
    FORTRAN. :)
