I'm running mystic on Linux, v1.12 A48. In my message base I have the issue that some messages have lots of new line characters in them, splitting messages with *a lot* of linefeeds resulting in very large messages. It's not always happening though and as of late, it looks like it's not happening to new messages.
This was a bug with an earlier version of Mystic & mutil where it would add
extra line feed every time the message base was packed.
I believe this was fixed in A47 so shouldn't be happening with A48, though those messages with extra lines added would still be in your message base.
Hi all,
I'm running mystic on Linux, v1.12 A48. In my message base I have the issue that some messages have lots of new line characters in them, splitting messages with *a lot* of linefeeds resulting in very large messages. It's not always happening though and as of late, it looks like it's not happening to new messages.
The linefeeds can be seen when opening the file with vi and they're showing as ^M^M^M etc. I have investigated the issue earlier; other
boards don't seem to have the issue for the same message in the same network and area.
I was wondering if I could repair my base or whether it would be
possible to manipulate the files by using sed and replace any instance
of '^M^M^M' to none (I'm not familiar with the file format and if it is forgiving in that sense).
