Depending on what gadget you buy from them, there are some that have a
setting to set the line for "fax." That also makes me curious how well it might work for other data connections.

I just got one set up for my 68k Mac Club BBS. Give it a try! I have no idea
if it will work properly or not, so your mileage may vary. I've configured
the audio codec to the one that was suggested for fax/data use. The modem supports up to 33.6, but it should be capped at 19.2 at the moment. I've
also read that 9600 is more reliable over voip than faster speeds. I have
a second modem on the way as well.

I get a recorded message when I dial this number.

"This number has not yet been (garbled). Please contact (garbled)." Then
it hangs up. The second "garbled" may have been "Temco" but I could not
make it out.
